Weather in the Northern Sporades

Most of the weather information comes from Skopelos but many sites are now providing information about Alonissos.  We have provided access to a number of different weather sites on the Internet which present the information in differing formats.  Often the weather they forecast is different so take a sample and either believe the consensus or just be prepared for the best and the worst.  Click any icon to access the weather.

Poseidon is a Greek weather site run by the National Center for Marine Research (NCMR) which provides weather information across Greece in terms of surface wind, rainfall, snowfall, cloudiness, air temperature, dust load, fog and atmospheric pressure.  The surface wind information is a good indicator as to whether the wind is strong enough to stop the flying dolphins running and the ferries docking.

Windfinder was recommended to us by Mike Holmes of Villa Seven Sisters.  Mike does yacht charters and uses this site as a reference for the local wind conditions when taking the boat around the islands.  The link now points to the weather station on our nearest island Skopelos.
This is a link to a weather site run by the Norwegian Meteorological Institute that has been recommended to us by a Danish lady Anna Vibeke who finds that of all the weather sites this is the most accurate.  Check out their predictions about the weather and see if you agree.
