| Travel to Alonissos Alonissos is the third island from the mainland in the Sporades island chain and at the present time can only be accessed by sea. Agios Konstantinos, Thessaloniki and Volos are the three main ports that service the island with traditional ferries or high speed craft during the summer season, although we also have a summer ferry service from Kymi on the island of Evia. Outside of the summer season our sea connection with the mainland is mainly via the port of Volos. During the summer season from May to October there are charter flights to the island of Skiathos which is the nearest of the islands to the mainland. It is also possible to go by scheduled flight to Skiathos by flying into Athens airport and taking the Olympic airways internal flight from Athens airport to Skiathos and then by sea to Alonissos. If there are no internal flights to Skiathos or if they are inconveniently timed then you can travel by bus to the mainland ports of Agios Konstantinos or Volos. Express bus E93 goes directly to the KTEL Intercity bus station off Liossion Street in North Athens where buses run to Agios Konstantinos or Volos. Alternatively if there are ferries or high speeds running from Agios Konstantinos you can take a taxi to Alkyon Travel near Kannigos Square in Athens and get the private bus that meets the sea departures. There are scheduled flights into Thessaloniki airport and during the summer months there is often a sea connection to Alonissos. If there is no sea connection from Thessaloniki then we recommend you take a bus or taxi from the airport to the bus station and take the Intercity bus to Volos for a sea connection to Alonisssos. The main airline companies that fly scheduled flights to Greece all year around are Aegean Airlines, British Airways, easyJet and RyanAir. The main airline charter companies flying from the UK to Skiathos during the summer months are Monarch, Thomson and Viking. The main ferry companies operating in the waters to and from Alonissos are Hellas Speed Cat, Hellenic Seaways, NEL lines and Skyros Shipping Company.
