Jet Ferry 1 was built in Norway in 1995 and named Kattegat after the area between Sjælland and Jutland in Denmark on which it sailed. In 1996 there was a change of ownership and name to Berlin Express and a route change from Gedser in Denmark to Rostock in Germany. In 1997 the ferry was sold to another company but sailed the same route until 1999 when renamed Gomera Jet and chartered to sail between Tenerife and La Gomera in the Canary Islands. GA Ferries bought Gomera Jet in 2000 and renamed it Express Ionian to sail between Patras and Ithaka via Kefallonia. Recently renamed Jet Ferry I this lovely ferry now sails from Agios Konstantinos to Alonissos. |
