The Hotel Avra is very conveniently located on the harbour front in Volos for sea departures to Alonissos being a short walk from the port area and a short taxi ride from the bus station. The reception staff are very friendly and speak very good English. The entrance is in Solonos, a side street off the main drag of bars and ouzeries. The bar and breakfast area are on the ground floor and there is a lift to the upstairs rooms. Rooms are simple and clean with ensuite toilet and shower plus a small balcony. February 2007 we paid 50 euro for a double room with breakfast extra at 5 euro per person.
