Hotel Attalos - Athens

We have been using the Hotel Attalos ever since we went island hopping in 1997 and came back via Athens for a couple of days to have a look around.  Not only is this a nice place to stay but it is just so conveniently located for Monastiraki metro station which services both the airport and the port of Piraeus.  The reception staff are very friendly and speak excellent English.

The hotel is in Athinas which has the central fish, meat and vegetable markets towards the top of the street as well as being close to both Ermou and Aeolou streets for all your shopping.  These streets lead up to Omonia and Syntagma Squares which are the hub of this area of Athens.  The hotel is also within walking distance of both the Acropolis and the Plaka area of Athens.

The breakfast area is on the mezzanine floor and the roof bar is enclosed and has a wonderful view of the Acropolis especially at night when the Acropolis is illuminated.  There are two lifts to the rooms which are simple and clean with ensuite toilet and shower plus a small balcony.  Prices vary between 50 - 90 euro depending on season, so we always e-mail the hotel in advance for a price at atthot@hol.gr.  The buffet breakfast is not included in the price and is 8 euro per person.
