Monday 26th July is the celebration day of Agia Paraskevi, who is the patron saint of the island. On Sunday evening 25th July there was a service in the church of Agia Paraskevi in Patitiri at 6.30pm that included a parade around the harbour with the holy icon of the saint. The parade came down through the harbour area around 8.45pm.
As you can see from the picures below the parade was led by a band and followed by two priests including our own Father Avraam in the black robes. The bier with the holy icon followed behind, carried by four members of the Port Police. Following the bier came the congregation. |
